Senior Product Manager

As Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining the roadmap for VMware’s next generation Service provider platform with a focus on metering, chargeback & billing. In addition, you would develop product features that support resell of VMware SaaS through the Service Provider channel. You will develop plans for the offering including product strategy, feature definition, monetization & influence go-to-market strategy. You would work with engineering on milestone planning, feature prioritization, day-day execution & development of platform modules. The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation, experience in cloud services or the service provider markets in either product management, engineering or technical marketing and have proven ability to work closely with and influence senior engineers and architects.

* Distilling customer and market requirements into epics & user stories. * Cross-team leadership: Coordinate & lead cross-product teams from multiple BUs across VMware. * Competitive analysis: Define unique differentiators for the platform based on completive analysis & customer feedback * Active engagement during development process: PM does user acceptance testing on this project. That means, at a feature level, writing completion criteria as the feature is planned, then later validating that it meets those requirements. * Work with Product Marketing in collateral generation for sales & customer enablement, serving as technical Subject Matter Expert . * Evangelize VMware advantages over competing offerings in live training events, speaking opportunities and social media

* BS/MS in Computer Science, MBA preferable * 2-3 years of experience in a Product Management role, SaaS experience a plus. * Experience with billing, metering, chargeback & show back technologies * Experience in in developing product for service providers * Willing to travel up to 20% in order to evangelize VMware technologies and solutions with sales, partners and customers * Strong ability to communicate precisely in written, presentation, and verbal forums * Ability to communicate and translate technical issues for business users as well engage & lead architecture & design discussions with engineering architects * Works well with peers and team members both inside and outside of the assigned area of responsibility
