Summary
Manage the product lifecycle to ensure the product suite meets customers’ needs and supports Midco’s strategy and goals. Research and understand the marketplace to recommend, define, and lead the development and launch of new products. Facilitate activities across the organization as the subject matter expert for product features and services.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for defining product strategy, managing the development roadmap, providing requirements, guiding development, leading market launch, monitoring performance, and sunsetting products. * Drive product related decisions by providing customer insights, competitive analysis, and market intelligence. * Understand and represent the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle. * Develop and present business cases for new products and product enhancements. * Coordinate with key stakeholders to write user stories, prioritize features, lead the development process, and validate functionality. * Oversee product Alpha and Beta testing, including test plans, customer surveys, and corrective actions. * Identify, report on, and assume accountability for the attainment of key performance indicators, including profitability and penetration metrics. * Ensure internal product training materials are clear, effective, current, and readily available. As appropriate, facilitate training activities through a variety of mediums (print, online, in-person, and video conference). * Communicate the value proposition of the products to the Sales Operations and business teams. * Assist Sales Operations with customer proposals and RFP responses as the product subject matter expert. * Research, assess, prioritize, and recommend product initiatives in a succinct and insightful format suitable for executives and cross-functional teams. * Assist in the creation of financial forecast models. * Partner with Marketing to create and maintain product literature, marketing materials, and sales collateral. * Ensure the product catalog is accurate, current, and complete. * Articulate technical concepts in ways that customers and team members can understand and reproduce. * Work with Legal regarding contract language, terms & conditions, and service order terms. * Continually evaluate the product development process to identify opportunities for improvement. * Remain current on changes in technology and share information with team members. * Maintain good rapport and relationships throughout the organization. Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience required. MBA preferred. * Product management or product marketing experience required. Five years in product management preferred. * Experience with a formal product development process (Agile, Stage-Gate, Waterfall). * Experience in developing, selling, or marketing B2B solutions is preferred. * Experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required. * General knowledge of telephone, data, Internet, and cable television services preferred. * General knowledge of network systems including DOCSIS, LAN, WAN, SIP, Internet, and general networking design preferred. * Exceptional organizational and time management skills required. * Strong people and relationship management skills required. Proven ability to work independently and interface with all levels and functions of an organization. **WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** * The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 30 lbs. * The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. * Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
