The Marketing Coordinator reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

S/he provides support and technical assistance to develop and implement the organization's marketing communications efforts. Responsibilities include developing and mobilizing segmented marketing and communications strategies to support stakeholder engagement and affinity.

S/he is an entrepreneurial, curious, innovative, strategic and results-driven individual responsible for implementation of a strategy designed inspire giving, advocacy and volunteerism to support Trident United Way's vision, mission and goals.

The Marketing Coordinator serves as an important member of the marketing and communications department staff.

Key areas of responsibility include website and social media content creation and implementation; public relations; media relations; segmented marketing; promotional events; internal communications; production of collateral material; and production of video projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILTIES

Develop and implement plan to integrate website, social media sites, e-mail campaigns and other news media in order to provide a consistent message Devise, direct, and execute website, social media and e-mail content and measurement(s) of effectiveness Including, but not limited to Monthly newsletter, blog posts, calendar of events, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and future media

Assist in developing and organizing outreach to target communities/audiences

Develop and pitch stories promoting TUW investments, activities, partnerships and milestones to local media outlets
- Research, interview, write and coordinate communication highlighting TUW's success and value-add to the community. Articulate TUW's collective impact work in compelling ways that inspire action and investment including photos, graphics and more.
- Coordinate integrated communication coverage of all events
- Execute internal communications plan for Work United effort
- Design and manage production of collateral materials Manage video production projects
ADDITONAL RESPONSIBILITES
- Perform other activities as assigned by the Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of departments and individuals
- Curious self-starter who creates and implements new initiatives
- Ability to discern the purpose of a marketing materials request, consider the audience, and guide the messaging
- Creativity and innovation when connecting with donors and other target populations
- Effective decision making and problem solving for the best outcome
- Knowledge of web analytics and social media monitoring and measurement tools
- Experience with web and social media content management
- Proficiency in In-Design, Adobe Photoshop, Google Analytics strongly desired
- proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
- Knowledge of Web 2.0 business applications and exposure to other web-based technologies
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field is preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of experience in a similar role
- Advertising agency experience a plus
- Nonprofit work experience a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Worker must frequently talk and hear and use typical office equipment
- Worker sits most of the time; routinely required to walk and occasionally travel by car
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily works in climate controlled office-based setting.
- Position may require worker to commute to offsite locations to complete business.
- Normal office hours of Trident United Way are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- The role occasionally requires work before and/or after normal business hours.
