Responsibilities
Job Description * The Project Coordinator manages projects for the Gas and Electric Distribution and Gas and Electric Transmission lines of business. The Project Coordinator (PC) manages these projects from assignment of work in conjunction with the Office/Project Manager through close and submittal of the project deliverables to the client. The PC is responsible for assuring that project components have been through a quality check and that all deliverables are present and in specified formats and that the project is delivered on time and within the budgeted hours. Project Coordinators support various aspects of the projects' scope, schedule, cost, and compliance. A Project Coordinator position provides analytical support for various substation, and distribution and transmission line projects in the power delivery sector. Position may requiretravel to/from various project-related functions. Responsibilities: * Coordinates work with Distribution/Transmission Engineers, Designers or Distribution Analysts in conjunction with Office Manager or Project Manager. * Monitors progress on individual projects and communicates with project assignee, Project Manager and client to advise, update and revise requirements for the projects. Attend project or client meetings as required to provide updates. * Makes recommendations for corrective action to keep project on track as required. * Provide a quality control peer review on project deliverables assuring that designated features (e.g. drawings, permits, legends, photos, etc.) are meeting QA/QC requirements. * Provides reports on project closeouts and project details as necessary. Responds and delivers special report requests. * Advises project assignees as necessary on job requirements, software application or tools. * Uses project management tools to input and maintain project level detail with regard to proposals, resources, project status, budget tracking and project closeout. * Performs miscellaneous duties as required to support department goals and objectives.
Ideal Candidate
* A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or its equivalent in education and experience, plus 5 years as a Project Coordinator or similar project management function, or 7 years utility experience in transmission, distribution, business planning, accounting, and/or finance. * Demonstrated communication skills to deal with internal/external clients. * Strong attention to detail to quality control the projects and submit required deliverables. * Experience with appropriate software tools (Microsoft Office, GIS tools, Auto Cad, MS Project). * Knowledge of, and experience with: Planning Orders and Project Management, Project Controls, or Construction Management * Accounting/budgeting knowledge * CAMP / PMP Certificate desired
