Responsibilities
**The job:** The Executive Creative Director will have a critical role leading content and programming strategy and operations for PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly’s branded content team. The Executive Creative Director will work closely and collaboratively with editorial, marketing, sales, and product to create magnetic, compelling content experiences for brands that reflect the extraordinary storytelling and service of the PEOPLE and EW brands. The ideal candidate should have significant experience and proven success producing sophisticated, audience-delighting, high-profile, high-performing content destinations for brands, either at an agency or media property. He or she should be fluent in the technology of digital production, including video, analytics, and evolving social and mobile platforms, and truly enjoy the challenge of working across sales and edit to create integrated experiences. This position will report to the Associate Publisher, Marketing, for People and dotted line to the Associate Publisher, Marketing for Entertainment Weekly. The position will work very closely with the Digital Editorial Director. **Responsibilities:** - Develop and execute editorial programming strategy, budgets, staffing plans - Day-to-day editorial organization for branded content team and leadership of branded content newsroom capable of producing content with speed, at scale, and at budget. - Instill and enforce a metrics-driven approach to content creation and management with dashboards and regular reporting to executive team and content producers. - Hiring and development of talent. - Oversight and acceleration of social, syndication, and other traffic drivers - Collaborate with Editorial Director and editors closely to ensure that the voice and brand attributes of PEOPLE are captured and amplified online. - Develop voice, production, and guidelines for branded content
Ideal Candidate
- 8-12 years experience in content production, development, and distribution, with a significant portion of that in leadership and/or executive roles. - Experience managing mid- to large-size team. - Demonstrable network of contacts within publishing and product spheres to help facilitate audience growth, product development, and brand awareness. - Experience working and creating content directly with brands and advertisers. - Thorough understanding and application of publishing analytics (Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.) - Demonstrated ability to create content (lead by example) and flawless copy, editing, and visual accuracy. - BA/BS required
