Summary

Tilt is looking for a Lead Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function at Tilt. You will be the only person in accounting, reporting initially to the General Counsel. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy the day to day operations while executing on leadership opportunities to grow the accounting function. In addition to executing on tasks like accounts payable, this role will also help define and elevate accounting policies, design, and implement automation of accounting processes and support international growth. We’re seeking someone with a demonstrated track record or a strong interest in operating within a high growth, innovative environment. The ideal candidate must be results-oriented with the capacity to both think strategically and execute tactically.

Responsibilities
  • Support monthly financial statement reporting while aiming for automation and improvements
  • Manage all aspects of the company’s global accounts payable and payroll functions (we leverage a third party to fully support all accounting/tax needs of international offices)
  • Manage and complete the global monthly closing process and corporate consolidation
  • Develop, elevate and maintain accounting controls and reporting infrastructure that operates with efficiency and flexibility to support rapid growth and an innovative culture
  • Build upon and improve our platform reconciliation process
  • Support implementation of an ERP
  • Enhance and/or develop accounting procedures by way of new/updated systems and practices that will improve the overall operation of the team Plan, control and direct corporate accounting activities ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal financial policies and procedures
  • Support our annual financial audits
Ideal Candidate
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience, including 1+ year(s) experience at regional or national public accounting firm and 1+ year(s) experience at a company
  • Experience working in an early stage, growth technology company
  • Strong accounting background with deep knowledge of GAAP
  • An ability to confidently communicate at all levels and effectively manage internal relationships, including executive team
  • Ability to identify and execute operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to improve resource optimization
  • High ceiling; capable of taking on additional responsibilities over time and growing with company and role
  • Comfortable operating at both ends of spectrum: “rolling sleeves up” and leading

A plus:

  • A demonstrated interest in FP&A and a CPA
  • Payment industry experience
  • Multi-country/currency environment experience
