Responsibilities
* Implement financial processes, conduct analysis, prepare data and reports for management review. * Assist in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation insuring the operating results are reflected accurately * Prepare and implement monthly financial closing and statements * Analyze and prepare financial data for reports, meetings, and statements * Interpret budget and provide analysis to management * Prepare analysis on shipment level bills to ensure contract compliance on all carriers * Work with the transportation operations staff to identify, track, and validate savings initiatives * Administer the FedEx Online Shipping system * Work with the third party freight payment company * Validate and perform analysis on carrier funding * Develop relevant financial metrics and prepare detailed month-end reports * Lead cross-functional teams for Continuous Improvement Process initiatives * Manage multiple assignments/projects simultaneously. * Query data from multiple database systems for use in analysis or required by other supply chain customers. * Work directly with other functional areas not directly associated with SC * Assist in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan and the Quarterly Forecasts * Perform other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:** * Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant background * 2+ years of financial analytical experience within a corporate setting * Solid knowledge of accounting and financial concepts * Excellent computer skills in Excel, Access, MS Word. Knowledge of data warehouse packages and relational databases are a plus. * Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills * High level of analytical skills * Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams from different areas, drive accountability and continuous process improvement in daily activities **Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:** * Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant background * 2 years of relevant work experience
