Summary
The QTI Group is partnering with a local consumer finance think tank that is dedicated to scientific and thoughtful analysis about issues affecting the future of consumer finance. Due to recent expansion they have an immediate need for an Events Manager to join their team! In this role you will be organizing and delivering an engaging, imaginative experience that enables the organization to put their research, ideas and outputs into action.
Responsibilities
* Modeling the client’s values and playing a key role in maintaining the culture of the organization through personal and cross-functional account abilities; * Actively supporting the achievement of strategic objectives, plan and metrics in a manner consistent with the company mission, values and brand; * Providing extraordinary service to staff, members and stakeholders; * Understanding and engaging in the client’s complete body of work including research and impact programs in order to connect member needs with programming that can best meet those needs; * Prioritizing and managing workload to aggressive deadlines; * Researching markets and system events to identify appropriate opportunities, timing and location for company events; * Liaising with stakeholders to ascertain their precise event requirements and goals and delivering accordingly; * Producing detailed proposals for events (e.g. project plans, timelines, venues, suppliers, staffing and budgets); * Managing the events budget; * Securing and booking a suitable venue or location; * Negotiating and managing hotel bookings and transport for the event; * Ensuring insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered to; * Coordinating venue management, caterers, logistics, contractors and equipment; * Identifying, securing and contracting speakers or special guests; * Planning room layouts and the entertainment program, scheduling workshops and excursions; * Coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings; * Preparing event packs, papers and take aways; * Liaising with colleagues to promote the event; * Liaising with appropriate stakeholders to create a brand for the event and organizing invitations, promotional collateral and communications; * Coordinating suppliers, handling event queries and troubleshooting for the event to ensure that all runs smoothly; * Overseeing the dismantling and removal of the event and clearing the venue efficiently; * Post-event evaluation (including collecting data, analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders); * Providing a seamless, consistent imaginative experience and event process across the organization; * Leveraging event processes and resources for multiple use cases
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in business, marketing or communications or related field desired. * 5+ years of experience required with at least 3 years in event management. * Certified in event management or working towards it. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Ability for prioritizing and managing workload to aggressive deadlines. * Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment * Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues at all levels of an organization. * Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of an event. * An understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist of the financial services industry is preferred as is credit union system experience. * Intellectually curious about credit unions. Enjoy working in a “think tank” environment where ideation, continually embracing change, being restless with the status quo and seeking reinvention is part of the culture. A passion for purpose and precision –including the details. * High degree of professionalism, tact and sensitivity to strengthen Filene's image in the marketplace. * Willing to be empowered and held accountable for results. * Ability and desire to travel in North America approximately 30% of time.
