Summary
The Customer Service Representative will provide customer support for North America After Market business. They will also support and participate in collaborative relationships within Customer Service and cross functional business units within Tennant.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming internal and external calls directed from Tennant’s 1-800 phone queue - Receive and enter all incoming phone, faxed and electronic orders and quotes in an accurate and efficient manner for assigned Tennant products and services - Adhere to documented Tennant order entry and phone procedures - Advise and/or contact customer regarding required Purchase Order information needed - Effective time management and ownership surrounding CSR’s Daily Open Order Report - Proper and timely escalation and coordination with business partners on customer’s behalf for any inquiries related to phone, faxed or emailed requests - Effectively resolve customer inquiries, quote and general requests balancing customer and company needs with responsibilities to include: - Fax/e-mail requests for W9, MSDS, POD, part identification - Status of part and service orders, shipment tracking information, back orders, purchase order confirmations
Ideal Candidate
**Education and Experience Required:** - High school diploma or equivalent plus two years’ experience in a customer contact environment - SAP experience preferred - PC and PC application skills * Customer Interaction: * Ask questions to identify customer needs and provide resolution * Address the customer's need by involving right resources * Communication and Execution: - Listen, communicate clearly, concisely and professionally - Write with accuracy, simplicity and in a professional manner - Ensure work is done in a timely fashion - Adhere to purchase order policy - Accurately enter parts and service orders - Comply with policies, procedures and work requirements * Problem Analysis and Resolution - Use strong problem solving and critical thinking - Involve and seek appropriate resources when resolution is unclear with a sense of urgency - Understand the importance of his/her role as a representative of Tennant by demonstrating a positive and professional service demeanor to internal and external customers - Anticipate, assess, and respond effectively to the needs of diverse customers, both internally and externally, making excellent customer service a high priority - Work productively, plans, use time and resources efficiently, follow through to completion - Identify and prioritize problems accurately, constructively, to support department guidelines - Interact and communicate effectively with others across all levels and departments - Adjust priorities in order to meet emerging needs, able to adapt his/her approach as the requirements of a situation change - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - High level of attention to detail
