Summary
The primary purpose of this role is as a business partner within the North American Production & Supply (P&S) organization. This role will support analysis including budgeting/forecasting, monthly ad hoc financial analysis and other finance activities. Also, this role will work on inventory coordination for the seeds entity. * Prepare weekly, monthly and annual financial analysis and reports * Investigate variances to expectations. * Proactively provide financial analysis and decision support on business cases, cost & capital decisions to add business value. * Manage physical inventory process, counts and reporting.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate monthly P&S financial reporting and analysis for Seeds. Develop and improve reporting to ensure that the key business drivers are tracked, reported and analyzed to help drive business performance to meet budgets and forecasts. * Analyze and bridge annual P&S budget numbers and forecasts. * Prepare and provide analysis for monthly P&S financial forecasts (LO’s and LE’s) * Prepare monthly functional expense and related analysis. * Assist in the process of aligning reporting across CROP and Seeds which would include COGS variances, fixed cost and other P&S specific reporting requirements. * Ensure integrity of financial books with adherence to accounting policies and procedures, and compliance with internal controls. * Accurate and timely inventory counts and reporting.
Ideal Candidate
**Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges:** * Expert Excel/Data Warehouse and PowerPoint skills * Ability to grasp complex system infrastructures * Excellent communication skills * Under minimal direction, performs complex cost accounting functions. * Ability to partner with the business to understand their ways of working and needs * Proactively providing insightful and challenging analysis to add value **Critical knowledge:** * Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field (CPA, MBA or MS preferred) * Minimum of 3 years experience * Proficient PC skills, particularly in Excel financial modeling and PowerPoint presentations. * Experience in standard costing within SAP or other large scale ERP system. * SAP experience preferred **Critical experience:** * Solid knowledge of accounting policies and financial principles * Financial Analysis for income statement, balance sheet and cash flow. * Understanding of financial analysis, benchmarking, variance analysis in a manufacturing or operations environment. * Budgeting/Planning/Forecasting. **Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:** * Exceptional analytical and financial skills * Strong interpersonal and team work/building skills. * Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. * Ability to communicate concise and clear messages **Critical leadership capabilities:** * Self-directed * Results Oriented * Organization Effectiveness – Develops networks across the organization * Performance Orientation – Understanding of key performance drivers
