Summary
The Senior Product Analyst over Core Applications and User Experience plays a key role in the end-to-end development of innovative new solutions. Working with a dynamic group of people including key business leaders, internal and external customers, other members of the product management team and our top-notch development group, you will be required to participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from early stage discovery through project completion. The Product Analyst performs operational analysis, technical analysis, process definition, and user experience design.
Responsibilities
* Enterprise / new product business systems requirements definition and analysis. For medium to large products, elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, product analysis, task and workflow analysis. * Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information -into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. * For medium to large products, proactively communicate and collaborate participate as part of a project team with external and internal stakeholders to analyze information needs and requirements and participate in the development of the following artifacts as needed: Business requirements – what the needed achievements will be, and the quality measures / Functional requirements – describe what the system, process, or product/service must do in order to fulfill the business requirements / Implementation requirements – behaviors required to enable transition from the current state to the desired future state, including quality of service requirements. (Scalability, security, usability) / Use Cases / Workflows * Project ROI tracking. Develop advanced metrics for quantifying and tracking ROI. Track and report on the outcomes. Provide end of project case study materials that summarize the project return * Engage in development process. Participate in all aspects of the development process including planning, review and retrospectives. Lead the development of the creation of user stories based on understanding of project and requirements. Take on the role of product owner for medium to large products. * Utilize Human Centered Design methods. Can complete advanced deliverables in several of the following areas (Looking, Understanding, and Making). Use the appropriate Human Centered Design Method to assist in the completion of core responsibilities. Help mentor the Product Analyst group in the proper application of HCD methods * Leads small technical teams. * Provide regular status reports of activities and participates in group meetings. * Creates project/team statements of work and schedules. * Ensures associated personal/team quality, cost, and timeliness requirements are met. * Identifies and communicates project issues. * Effectively leads/follows process. * Supports competency improvement initiatives.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related business field (computer science, information systems, etc.) or comparable degree and/or experience. * Prior experience with product development, understanding Product Requirements Documents and writing software requirements is required. A solid background in UX design concepts, and experience with UI layout/workflow prototyping tools are highly preferred. * Generally has 6 – 10 years professional experience in a Product Analyst role, preferably working with web-based software-as-a-service solutions. * Operates largely independently with project direction from lead/supervisor direction 1x/week. * Able to mentor, motivate and inspire team members * Interacts with others in an open, honest, collaborative, and reliable manner. * Is visually and verbally articulate. Able to lead interactive group development sessions.
