Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities: - Develop and champion a content strategy at Dell proactively sharing your vision to leaders, stakeholders, peers, and team members - Stay up on developments in the evolving field of content strategy, and inspire our UX team to learn and grow accordingly - Educate and influence teams external to UX Design both informally (through daily engagement and 1:1 interaction) and formally (through training and related programs) - Team with engineering to develop flexible, repeatable processes for content strategy in our Agile (Scrum-based) environment - Team with analytics and customer-experience leads to ensure that data and customer insights drive content decisions and standards—including the evolution of our CMS - Develop KPIs (key performance indicators) for content success, and use these to drive continuous improvement at the product and CMS levels - Sit on—and proactively integrate yourself and your team into—pan-Dell content efforts, including marketing content strategy, large-scale content audits, content training, and the acquisition and onboarding of content consultancies - Think and work globally to ensure the success of content across all Dell's properties and languages, and lead content-localization discussions for our new Agile process
Ideal Candidate
Desired Experience: - Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, English, journalism, technical publishing, or related fields, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Web content strategy or global Web content management. Requirements: - Passion for content strategy as a discipline and customer experience as a shared mission - Effective organizational and project-management skills - Effective communication and presentation skills - Ability to identify critical insights (whether through trends or through hard data) and organize them into actionable plans that can be shared across content, UX, development, and marketing - Experience working in and evaluating Web content-management systems (MOSS experience a plus) - Facility with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as a basic understanding of HTML and CSS (your team will work in code to some degree) - Superior editing and proofreading skills, as well as demonstrable professional experience writing for the Web (particularly in global environments) · Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline-driven environment (prior Agile and Scrum experience desirable but not mandatory) · Experience with social media, cross-platform publishing, and evolving trends in mobile publishing and design · Experience with SEO (search engine optimization) and a general understanding of how to use search insights to drive content improvements
