Summary
The main purpose of this position is to utilize best practices in facilitation and instruction to facilitate training courses that meet the business needs of the organization and to mentor less experienced instructors for their development.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate/instruct training courses and create an engaging learning experience. * Ensure courses meet Learning & Development (L&D) guidelines and the needs of the business (i.e. soft skills, technical, leadership, business concepts, etc.). * Contribute to course content creation. * Responsible for classroom participation and outcomes and ensuring learning objectives are met. * Partner with management and subject matter experts to obtain desired training results for line of business leaders. * Serve as a mentor and coach to assist with the trainees' continued learning. * Partner with trainees and the trainees’ supervisors to determine training outcomes. Review success and conduct a skill gap analysis. * Analyze post-training survey data and utilize results for coursework maintenance and improvement. * Serve as a back-up developer of coursework utilizing Captivate, Articulate or other authoring courseware. * Serve as mentor to new associates in L&D to guide them in process and policy onboarding. * Perform other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:** * Ability to quickly learn new concepts and transform business concepts into effective learning modules. * Effective verbal and written communication skills and active listening skills. * Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. * Ability to lead a classroom discussion in a productive manner. * Effective mentoring and coaching skills. * Proficient in general business concepts and terminology. * Ability to write and implement learning plans and/or modules to meet the needs of the lines of business and associates. * Ability to specialize in two or more classroom disciplines (i.e. leadership skills, technology, business concepts, soft skills, etc.). * Outstanding customer service and team player skills. * Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. * Excellent attention to detail and quality. * Basic level proficiency with Adobe Captivate, Articulate or similar authoring tool. * Basic level proficiency with Windows operating system. * Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. * Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all Scottrade associates and by having a positive attitude. **Physical Activites & Requirements, Visual Acuity, Working Conditions And Noise Level:** * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. * The physical requirements of this position are considered to be sedentary work (Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.). * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less in order to view a computer screen). * The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate (business office with co-workers, copiers, shredders, printers, etc). **Contacts With Others:** * Contacts with other persons within the department on routine matters as well as regular contact with other departments, or outside the organization furnishing or obtaining factual data requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. May need to regularly utilize specialized communication skills in order to maintain goodwill with internal and external contacts. **Minimum Education & Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Education/Training, Finance, or Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. * 5+ years of Learning and Development classroom instruction/facilitation experience required. * 5+ years of experience coaching and training in a corporate environment required. Training in the financial services industry preferred. * Experience instructing coursework for all levels of the organization while utilizing adult learning principles required. * 1+ years experience working within an ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) work environment or similar methodology preferred. * Prior experience developing coursework, training programs preferred. * Prior experience working with subject matter experts within lines of business preferred.
