Summary
Raytheon IDS Electrical Engineering Power and Electronics Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer with experience in power electronics and analog circuits.The candidate will work with custom and commercial off-the-shelf and custom hardware designs to achieve system requirements.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include development of proven designs using modeling, simulation, and hardware testing. The selected candidate will work closely with other members of the development team in translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware functional requirements. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of design experience, power electronics knowledge, and hands on laboratory skills.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills:** * 10+ years experience including the following: * Design and development of power electronics hardware such as power converters, power conditioners, and linear regulators * Modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer based tools * Hardware test/validation * Working independently or leading a technical team * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * US Citizenship is required; this position will need a US Security Clearance within one year of start date **Desired Skills:** * 14+ years experience in power electronic circuit and system development * Hardware development experience in a DoD environment * Experience generating technical documentation and reports * Experience interfacing with procurement and manufacturing as well as external suppliers to ensure proper implementation of product designs * Ability to multi-task * Existing security clearance **Growth Opportunities:** Opportunities for continued growth as a Principal Electrical Engineer include the following roles: * Individual technical contributor: Highly technical track with opportunities for hands-on work. * Team leader: Direct a team in completing specific tasks, reporting status and results as required. * Program management – technical: Direct a cross-functional team on work related to a specific program or contract.
