Summary
Siemens Industry is looking for a Sr.Project Manager for their Norcross, GA location. Technical program manager oversees the work of the technical internal or/and external teams assigned to his program(s) having electronics, mechanical and software content. The manager must possess good technical electronics hardware and software design skills and use the previous design experience to get the overall project planned and executed within agreed time frame. Main responsibility is for establishment of and integration of the project schedules, project budget and creation of PLM milestones gates in concert with the budget, team member’s capability and in agreement with the individual department managers.
Responsibilities
The project will be reviewed weekly having emphasis on individual task performance to the schedule. Participate in planning, creating and keeping up with budgets and implementing new ideas and designs together with the management staff. The process, Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and establishment of Quality Gates is a must task necessary to keep project status visible. He or she must have a solid understanding of software and hardware architectures, mechanical design, PCB design skills, electronics hardware simulation skills, embedded software with Real Time Operating Systems as well as complex database concepts. This person will report to the Director, Electronics Research and Development and will have no direct reports. * Lead the engineering requirements/specification efforts. * Decide on a budget and plan the activities in accordance with the budget specifications. * Responsible for all the functions, criteria and specifications as outlined in the Engineering Product Specifications assuring that all are met by the deliverable product. * Capability to supervise tasks and activities of the technical team. * Assure technical documents and reports are created and maintained and that all the processes are followed. * Understand and communicate issues arising in software and therefore understand to a certain degree:- embedded architectures, operating systems and database concepts, web system architecture and object oriented methodologies. * Understand and communicate the issues arising in hardware as well, effectively across all disciplines and to management. * Proactive stand to problem solving (predict and know what to expect to best ability and assure testing is done to complete) * Understanding of resource capability and ability to perform on one or more engineering disciplines (design, test, manufacturing) so to manage resource to its fullest to accomplish the tasks. * Manage product transition from prototype to a manufacturing produced product. * Assure that product meets all pertinent codes and standards.
Ideal Candidate
**Skills and Specifications** * Must have a business sense and acumen * Must possess excellent technical knowledge in software, electronics hardware (analog, digital and RF) and mechanical packaging disciplines * Proven excellent managerial skills and leadership qualities are a must * Written and oral communication skills * Motivation of others to perform * Problem solving abilities and self motivated nature to get all tasks accomplished per plan * Microsoft Project certification is desired. Use of Microsoft Project as a managing tool is necessary. **Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education:** * A Master’s degree in electrical engineering- MSEE a compulsory requirement. * MBA is highly desirable. * Experience should include at least fifteen (15) years of product development and having an experience to go from start to introduction of the product to market. * Familiarity with C, C++ or C#. * Demonstrated successful Program Management of people and technology for a product that has been released, manufactured and successfully introduced in a market place. **Not required but would be a plus:** * Electrical Vehicle car charging experience * Wi-Fi or cellular product development experience/exposure.
