Quality Systems, Inc. ("QSI") and its wholly-owned subsidiary, NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc. ("NextGen"), develop and provide computer-based practice management, medical records, and e-business applications for medical and dental group practices.
Summary
The Business Systems Analyst will define the NextGen Electronic Health Record (EHR) content requirements. This is the Patient Portal Workflow, Provider and Patient Content and Regulatory Capability of Meaningful Use. The role will identify functionality, develop use cases, identify content, analyze work flow, identify business, regulatory need and define system output. To define the functional requirements includes collaborating with clients and performing clinical and business analysis to determine the optimal clinical content and work flow. This position will create specification documents for the Developers to use to implement software and validate defined solutions with clients.
Responsibilities
* Identify business need for EHR content, specifically for Patient Portal and related functionality. * Write functional requirements (e.g. use cases, workflow, data, content input and document output). * Analyze then independently identify complex problems within the content-based software and/or customer data to create requirements. * Manage relationship with key customers and provide feedback for the requirements. * Facilitate customer validations (e.g. prototype evaluations, beta tests and limited releases) of products. * Support Developers with requirements by prioritizing, refining and interpreting the requirements. * Exercise independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action which is based on the analysis performed and all possible solutions to determine the appropriate define requirements. * Document all analysis and actions in Mercury Quality Central Software for Management to determine resource requirements, allocations, software enhancements, release notes and other factors critical to the Company operation. * Review software implementation once completed by Developers. * Provide input toward short term plan for action plans to resolve customer problems. * Work directly with clients on site and remotely to determine clinical content need. * Conduct and support the training needs and serve as the EHR content expert. * Provide and consult the EHR content issues with customers, NextGen Management, Sales and Support.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Medical Records, another related Healthcare field or equivalent Healthcare work experience. * Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with an EHR system. * Comprehensive understanding for the components of Medical Records. * Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint and Excel). * Excellent written, oral communication skills, attention to detail and organizational skills. * Clear understanding of the clinical workflow. * A Medical or Healthcare background, also technology oriented and have technical aptitude. * Experience working in a Matrix Organization. * Master’s Degree. * Demonstrated knowledge and expert with NextGen Ambulatory EHR or another EHR system * Demonstrated knowledge and experience with interfaces for HL7 transactions. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Pharmacy Management Process or Pharmacy Systems. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Patient Portals or other consumer facing Healthcare Software.
