Summary

The Consumer Lending Manager is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the credit union’s consumer lending department. This manager relies on industry knowledge to seize opportunities to improve service and ensure that loan decisions are consistent with company philosophy. The Consumer Lending Manager communicates proactively with branch partners to provide training, guidance and continued professional development. Responsibilities include origination processes and procedures, loan origination systems management, risk management, DMV title perfection/release, and loan documentation.

Responsibilities

As Consumer Lending Manager, you’ll take care of underwriting, funding, processing and member service for consumer loans. You will ensure the relevance, quality and profitability of lending products and services and will develop and implement new products as needed. You will make sure that departmental operations are in line with established goals, budgets, safety procedures and regulations. You will also monitor staff production levels, training, coaching and managing staff as needed. This position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday hours are required when necessary.

Ideal Candidate

The Consumer Lending Manager must have five years of experience in consumer lending, with at least three years of that experience in a supervisory/management position in a consumer credit department. You must have demonstrated analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills, as well. Successful candidates will have proficient knowledge of California and Federal laws regarding consumer lending policies. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance or equivalent experience required.
