Summary
Planet Interactive is in search for a Human Resources Generalist to work for one of the largest Engineering firms in the country. The HR Generalist will serve as a business partner to managers; providing professional support in the following areas: recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and career development, retention, and other human resources initiatives or programs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to build strong client relationships, provide excellent customer service, problem solve and clearly present complex information. If you have a minimum of 7 years experience.
Responsibilities
* Employee Relations: Provide counsel, assistance, and problem-resolution services to employees and all levels of management guided by company’s policies, labor-law legislation, and state and federal agency requirements. * Performance Management: Support managers in providing continuous performance feedback to employees. Advise managers on career development, performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions. * Training: Conduct training classes for various classes with Human Resources related subject matter (i.e. anti-harassment, diversity awareness, interviewing skills, etc.) Assist in the development of new training courses and related reference material. * Recruitment:Work with Centralized Recruitment team to fill openings in California. Consulting with managers in full life cycle recruitment process to: * Gain a solid understanding of forecasted hiring needs and how they relate to their business goals * Screen and interview potential candidates to assess qualifications. * Recommends qualified candidates to managers, coordinate additional interviews, and facilitate the selection process.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in a human resources or business related field. * Minimum of 7 years related experience in Human Resources, with an expertise in the areas of employee relations and recruitment. * Previous experience recommending solutions for employment matters, managing conflict, performance coaching and conducting internal complaint investigations is required. * Must have strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, ADEA, and other federal and state employment related laws and regulations. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a strategic perspective are required. * Experience with automated applicant tracking systems and Internet-based sourcing tools is required. * Experience with PHR, SHRM-CP or other human resources certification is preferred. * Previous experience recruiting for construction or engineering positions in a high volume recruiting environment is preferred. * Previous experience supporting remote locations is preferred.
