Summary
The Pitney Bowes eCommerce business delivers on major client e-commerce projects (retail and online marketplaces) and has expanded outside the US into Europe and other regions of the world. Our eCommerce solution provides a platform that simplifies everything from cross-border transactions to the shipment of merchandise through an integrated suite of web services designed to address the needs of online retailers, marketplaces, either directly with the merchants or through strategic partnerships with specialist service providers and the like. The expected growth projectile for the eCommerce division is a doubling of the business annually. The Strategic Business Development Manager will support the growth and entry of the PB Ecommerce and Shipping platforms and will work directly with a broad spectrum of clients, including: Channels &Resellers. The Strategic Business Development Manager will have regular client interaction at multiple levels representing PB eCommerce and Shipping solutions and services on a day to day basis and will lead all initiatives for assigned clients, representing business need for all changes, enhancements in technology, operational changes, and services and to deliver on growth and revenue targets.
Responsibilities
* Partner with clients to ensure their long term success in B2C and C2C retail e-commerce with the PB e-commerce shipping platform and services * Identify and assess strategic partnerships to support the PB go-to-market strategy; clearly demonstrate the synergies between companies for a win-win relationship and assist in the business requirements scoping phase * Work with strategic partners to build compelling market entry points into new territories; includes effective commercial negotiations and managing the service agreement through to completion * Accountable for delivery of Channel revenue and growth targets for assigned clients. Work proactively with the client to develop new service offerings, expand country coverage, and other program growth initiatives to grow e-commerce revenue and parcel volumes * Liase between clients and internal cross functional teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions and services to meet clients’ needs and schedules. Be the voice of the customer internally to the wider PB business * Operate as lead contact for all business, growth, revenue generating matters for assigned clients * Forecast and track client volumes and revenue to budget * Develop indepth knowledge of contractual agreement with clients and be able to leverage within ongoing business dealings as needed. Work with PB legal to deliver contract amendments or changes for client.
Ideal Candidate
* Over 5 years business development, account management or similar experience in working within large ecommerce-centric organizations, carrier or parcel delivery services * Career experience with the delivery of major complex initiative for clients inclusive of software, process and operational changes * Domain experience in B2C retail, cross border e-commerce and / or small package delivery technology and metrics * Direct experience with online retail platforms; deep understanding of the web customer journey and the importance of a seamless end to end customer experience * Excellent communications skills and ability to be effective at all levels with client and internal management. Written skills, presentation skills and day to day interactions must be concise, clear and accurate. * Analytical skills and the ability to distill information from multiple sources, analyze and present in meaningful ways to the business for actionExperience in managing complex contractual relationships * Ability to travel internationally required
