Responsibilities
- Build, execute, and define client email strategies that position email as a key driver of online fundraising, prospecting, relationship and movement building. - Provide leadership in facilitating and negotiating vision, and partnership across several account teams, often simultaneously. - Serve as email evangelist and strategy expert across all teams, both within the agency, and for our clients. - Advise digital and marketing team counterparts in the best way to leverage email as part of multi-channel marketing campaigns that move people to take action. - Partner with account leads to own acquisition and fundraising goals, where email is a strategic tool. - Manage and support junior staff assigned email deliverables, ensuring that all team members are set up to succeed in the role, and are continuously challenged and developed. - Continue to build out Fenton’s email practice over time. - Pitching prospective clients, funders and other potential partners or allies. - Being the smartest person in the room on email strategy and implementation. - Expert in establishing and executing a vision for how our clients leverage email, one of their strongest and most impactful means of communication. - Eminently capable of developing a high-level email strategy, as well as improving the operational process of email execution and deployment for a range of clients, with the end goals of building and sustaining relationships with their key audiences and moving people to take action. - Skilled in a leading the planning, developing, testing, and analyzing of email campaigns, as well as working across agency and client teams. - Comfortable providing strategic leadership on multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional team members. - Proactive, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. - An individual with excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communications skills with tenacity to solve clients’ problems quickly and to provide them with excellent service. - An enthusiastic and committed attitude, flexible problem-solver, open to participate and promote change within the organization. - A self-starter with ability to think independently and work autonomously when necessary and a desire to succeed among fellow professionals. - A person who is passionate about social issues and interested in working on campaigns which tackle progressive causes.
Ideal Candidate
- In addition to five to eight years of experience in email or multi-channel marketing, with preference for experience at a firm, we are looking for candidates with strong experience in:Content strategy - Digital and mobile optimization, including A/B testing - Familiarity with CRMs, various mass email platforms, and strategies for lead generation - Proven ability to move people to action (donate, join, etc.) through online communications - Strong analytical ability: can build reports, analyze data, summarize findings for executive teams - Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment - Strong organization and written / oral communication skills - Articulating and presenting your strategic plans in client presentations (both written and in-person) - Mentoring or managing staff - Working collaboratively as a member of a team - Juggling multiple tasks under tight deadlines - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrated ability to motivate staff/project team, inspire teamwork and take a leadership role - Ability to solve complex problems with keen instincts and organizational experience - Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience required
