Summary
The price generalist is responsible for providing operational support to our customers and for our Pricing Analyst and Controls teams. The primary focus of the price generalist is to provide invoice accuracy and timely processing of rebates through various operational activities. This position must also work closely with the finance, marketing and sales organizations to achieve results. Successful employees in this role are considered as bench talent for the price analyst Position.
Responsibilities
* Manage service for our Customers (50%) * Partner with the price analyst and controls teams, finance, marketing and sales to resolve all pricing bill blocks timely and accurately * Lead root cause analysis and develops corrective action initiatives to prevent bill blocks * Ensure timely issuance of credits and debits for price deductions, including investigation and resolution of issue * Partner with price analysts, sales and our customers to clear and perform root cause analysis of CPV’s * Assist in or leads corrective actions to prevent CPV’s * Establish SAR pricing quickly and accurately in SAP * Assist in maintaining pricing conditions, and updating prices for price increases * Process check requisitions timely and with accuracy * Perform manual rebate settlement timely with accuracy * Partner with and support the price analyst team during peak periods of rebate activity to achieve the timely and accurate completion of rebate loading/processing * Execute reporting for customers, pricing team and business partners * Metrics include: Invoice Accuracy, SAR Cycle Time, Pricing Defects, Bill Block Prevention/Reduction **Operate in a Financially Controlled Environment (20%)** * Ensure proper compliance of sales order to cash cycle requirements (SOX) - Identify deficiencies and opportunities in current processes, and initiate resolutions across a variety of resources (people, process and technology) to enable process improvements * Ensure all bill blocks are cleared within required timeframe * Ensure credits and CPV’s are cleared going through the proper Level of Authority * Ensure customer programs are loaded properly and approved by the required Level of Authority * Metrics Include: Quarterly Audits **Operating in a waste free environment (20%)** * Effectively use Lean Sigma methodology and tools to support a waste free environment * Identify and take action to eliminate non-value added activities within day to day operations * Ensure that standard work processes are followed and updated as changes are made * Actively participate in huddles, projects and other continuous improvement forums * Update scorecards and key metrics * Work closely with pricing colleagues in support of programs and activities as necessary to meet pricing goals and objectives * Hold team members accountable for the completion of tasks in the most efficient manner * Metrics Include: Invoice Accuracy, Productivity of operations and waste elimination * Grow financial value (10%) * Ensure Bill blocks, Credits, CPV’s, SAR’s, and price loading are processed with the utmost integrity and quality * Execute on our strategy and support analysts in providing day-to-day pricing guidance to the sales force * Ensure rebate settlements are executed and delivered efficiently yielding a timely response to customers * Metrics Include: Quality Assurance Audit, Rebate CPV Cycle Time
Ideal Candidate
* 1 – 3 yrs supply chain or finance experience * Demonstrated advanced Excel capability * Bachelors Degree (preferred) **Experience:** * Supply chain knowledge * SAP or similar ERP system knowledge * Understanding of Access and BI preferred * Six Sigma/Lean certification/training preferred **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** * Ability to multi-task and prioritize * Continually elevates individual performance and the performance of others * Adapts to change, and takes a leadership role in change management initiatives * Demonstrates strong decision making skills using data, experience and team input * Takes a customer driven approach * Displays strong communication skills across with various functions and levels within the organization * Demonstrates the following skills: * Teamwork * Problem solving / basic analytics * Attention to detail * Initiating action
