Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: - Understand the project roadmap, be in command of both short and long term goals and develop a clear understanding of the big picture - Analyze the requirements of the project, identify test objectives and goals, and develop a test management plan to govern the test effort - Provide or adjust justifiable QA estimates for the time, resources and budget required to successfully achieve test objectives - Establish, maintain, communicate and assure adherence to robust test processes to all project stakeholders - Organize the testing kick-off meeting for the start of each phase - Develop and maintain robust test strategies, test plans and other test documents in support of critical projects - Socialize test strategies, plans, and test cases with project stakeholders and provide project teams with regular, written reports on test status, progress, impediments, etc. - Proactively identify, monitor and communicate potential risks to the test project and timeline, and work with project manager to mitigate risks - Manage, steward the test environment (hardware, software, configuration) ensuring that testing takes place in a controlled, predictable context - Establish and manage process for adapting to changes to requirements; manage and proactively report potential impacts to the original test plan - Assist in discovering test dependencies between projects; and identify risks, conflicts or potential synergies between test projects. Help to strategize plans that take advantage of positives and mitigate risks. - Serve as the primary point of contact for the test project and liaise with developers, business analysts and end users on test project; clearly communicate QA role, and set expectations for QA deliverables on the project - Ensure the timely reporting on the overall status of the test project, and effectively communicate the state of the project - Assist in identifying skills or resource gaps and work with manager to address. - Participate in the recruitment process, by identifying and helping to select candidates with the right experience and skill sets - Assist in directing the activities of the test team; planning and sequencing tasks and monitoring progress to plan - Contribute to development of project deployment plans - Manage/contribute to the UAT project; developing test plans, working with end users to identify acceptance criteria, test scenarios, monitoring test progress and managing defects. - Complete Test Summary document for each production release, summarizing test case completion, accepted defects and certifying readiness for production - Manage and report key test metrics
Ideal Candidate
Competencies for Success: - Project Management Experience –Minimum of three years of project management in an IT-related environment. - History of success in designing and executing tests for an application/system based on the Software Architecture (models and principles). - Experience performing roles required for a software test project; e.g. defect management, test analysis and supporting acceptance tests. - A solid background in IT; have received training in testing; and have participated in at least one system test or acceptance test. - Should have progressing skills in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Testing Lifecycle, Testing Expertise, Testing Techniques, Testing Management, Architecture Knowledge, Technical Solution Design and Quality Management. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Proven ability to successfully work independently.
