Responsibilities
* The Expense Management Consultant (EMC) is responsible for supporting the Company's overall expense management process, focusing on ensuring optimal use of Company resources and ultimately the policyowners' money. * This role is also responsible for timely, accurate and compliant expense reporting and for providing value-added expense management modeling, consultation and analysis.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, computer science, MIS, math, statistics, business or related field. * CPA or CMA designation preferred. * Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional level experience required. * Must have strong initiative, organization, analytical and communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with divisions within the Financial Management department and other departments within Northwestern Mutual. * Ability to question assumptions, demonstrate relational analysis and integration of all components needed to solve problems and identify trends and issues of utilizing data for decision making. * Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and prioritize effectively. * Ability to develop and present recommendations to management. **Additional Information:** * This position will be focused on supporting Enterprise Vendor Management (EVAM) and optimizing vendor spend. It involves performing financial analysis in all facets of the vendor lifecycle: * Collect and evaluate information about potential vendors and the vendor market * Develop baseline total cost of ownership information * Contribute to the development of strategic sourcing strategies * Actively supporting the supplier selection and contracting process with in depth data analysis, should cost analysis, financial modeling and side by side comparisons. * Research and provide input into financial aspects of contracts * Prepare forecasts and financial performance measures associated with ongoing vendor relationships
