Summary
Analysts perform financial, statistical, economic and qualitative data collection and analyses; create and manage spreadsheets and databases; create reports and presentations in both Excel and PowerPoint, and perform various analytic tasks to support strategy, business / financial planning, and operations for the construction business across North America.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for collecting data and preparing various forecasts on key financial metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis * Assist in the preparation of reports for monthly and quarterly internal business reviews between operating unit senior management and AECOM senior management * Assist in the planning and preparation of annual operating plans and related analysis * Monitor the status of construction projects and new business, with the ability to understand its relationship and potential impacts to both operational and financial performance * Monitor operations of regional business units across North America and prepare related analysis and participate in monthly financial and operational reviews across all segments of the North America construction business * Assist in due diligence on potential M&A targets * Provide pertinent financial data to various departments for external purposes (e.g. marketing proposals, investor or press releases, industry financial surveys, etc.), with an emphasis on adhering to strict guidelines that prohibit reporting non-public financial information * Compile financial data and prepare analysis as requested by various business unit and parent company departments (HR, Strategic Planning, Communications, Corporate Finance, etc.) * Assist in preparation of analysis specifically for use by parent company Investor Relations in preparation for quarterly earnings calls * Support corporate initiatives and projects and attend meetings with senior management to track and follow-up on action items * Perform market research and cost analyses as needed. Make recommendations that will have an effect on the management of the company based on the above analyses. * Conduct research and analysis, prepare reports and make recommendations based on findings * Coordinate with corporate departments to collect and analyze data to prepare reports required by senior management.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Requirements** * Maximum of one to five years of work experience * Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, engineering, construction management or related fields is required * Ability to work with different levels of both technical and administrative personnel * Proficient or basic understanding of project/GAAP accounting as well as EAC metrics and methodologies * High comfort level with quantitative analysis, particularly under tight time constraints * Proficient qualitative writing skills * Ability to maintain confidential, corporate information and answer requests by senior management * Commitment to detail including the ability to incorporate edits and follow standard formats. * Excellent communicator including the desire to ask questions and learn from co-workers. * Basic understanding of standard forecasting metrics, concepts, and reporting. * Ability to prioritize tasks with a commitment to completing tasks with urgency and within established deadlines * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. **Preferred Qualifications** * Finance or business experience (education and/or job experience) is preferred. * Experience in construction or real estate industry, is desired but not required. * Experience with basic financial modeling.
