Summary
Peterson’s seeks a customer-focused Product Manager to own all aspects of the Peterson’s ResumeEdge product suite. The Product Manager will be part of the Peterson’s content team, reporting to the Content Director. It is essential for the Product Manager to have a strong background in recruiting; hiring; writing, reviewing and improving resumes; with a solid understanding of the job search process. The role requires an understanding of the market needs and product potential in order to define a crisp product vision including direction, planning, execution, and launch of product releases. The Product Manager is a liaison between functional groups, including senior management, customer support, finance, sales, marketing, and development in order to create and deliver products that drive high customer value. In addition, the role will manage an extensive freelance editor network to include testing, hiring, training, supervising, and ensuring quality performance.
Responsibilities
* Establish and maintaining product direction, evolution, resources, and maintenance. * Lead activities across the product lifecycle including product vision, strategy, development, planning, and execution. * Document and continuously manage product roadmap. * Manage content plan and implementation, including content community (blog, social, etc.), posting on external links, etc. and success metrics. * Collaborate with appropriate business managers and senior stakeholders to verify that product roadmaps and sprint priorities align with business expectations. * Join forces with developers and designers to drive the optimal user experience. * Research competitive and related solutions, understand technology landscape, and leverage analytics. * Analyze opportunities to build or improve the product. * Identify key partners or vendors in the marketplace. * Execute projects at all levels, including large product initiatives, small-level feature updates, and bug/issues fixes. * Recruit, test, interview, hire, train, QA, motivate and supervise all ResumeEdge editors to meet company standards, order workflow and client needs. * May participate in the development of a budget.
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * BS/BA or equivalent, advanced degree a plus. **Experience:** * One year resume writing/editing experience (or equivalent) required. * Experience writing content (articles, blog posts, etc.). * Strategic leadership experience, managing remote resources strongly preferred. * 5+ years of experience hiring, recruiting and working with job seekers. * 3-5 years of product management experience with consumer web products. * Relevant understanding of the web-based, services-oriented, scalable consumer products. **Competencies - Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:** * Passion for connecting job seekers with careers. * Demonstrated ability to achieve results and set strategic and tactical priorities. * Ability to manage multiple conflicting interests and set priorities to consistently meet deadlines. * Superior research, writing, editing and communication skills. * Excellent analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, customer service, and organizational skills. * Self-motivated with an appreciation for the balance between innovation and commercial requirements. * Commitment to excellence and to understanding the priority of customers along with the ability to resolve customer issues. * Ability to recognize and capitalize on opportunities. * Highly collaborative and the ability to think and connect across other products at Peterson’s. * Highly productive and efficient; proactive and organized. * Demonstrate strong internet skills and web savvy along with strong PC technical skills. * Base level understanding of SEO, content marketing and social media. * Proven ability to manage and motivate remote resources. * Understanding of general business process and overall business needs and goals.
