Summary
This position is responsible for providing the leadership, direction and resources to effectively manage retail stores, daily departmental operations with a key emphasis on merchandise replenishment.
Responsibilities
**Essential Functions (Operations):** * Executes strategic plans to optimize store profits while maintaining quality, cleanliness and Guest Service standards. Consistently drive process improvements and efficiencies to enhance Guest Service and retail store operations. * Support the creation of a cohesive team while demonstrating organizational, planning, delegation, mentoring and coaching skills. * Partner with Human Resources Manager to continuously train, develop and promote all retail teams through individual performance planning. * Assist with performance development including administering discipline, resolving employee relation’s issues and conducting individual and team meetings. * Responsible for development of hourly employees including training, mentoring and coaching. * Accountable for maximizing daily sales and effectively managing costs, labor, inventory and cash control, while focusing on exceeding annual Budget targets. * Communicates on a constant basis with Distribution team, Store Manager and Area Manager regarding Retail Store needs and staff performances and challenges. * Responsible for assisting with the development of weekly schedules, with a focus on maintaining staffing levels that satisfy budget as well as guest service goals. * Responsible for monitoring performance and making recommendations to maximize current trends. **Essential Functions (Replenishment):** * Ensure merchandise levels in each of the retail venues are maintained on store performance and merchandise layout plans. * Evaluate store merchandise needs through the verification of product performance . Adjust stock order needs and based on changing demands and sales trends. * Ensures that merchandise is promptly and correctly received and stocked into stores and manages to appropriate stockroom levels * Helps manage stock mins, displays mins and evaluate auto-replenishment is set appropriately based on sales and stock levels * Observe, report and make recommendations to merchandise planners, store managers and stock teams, to develop and improve distribution processes. * Manage stock team schedules and operation through consistent oversight, communication and follow-up. * Establish and maintain daily production goals and monitor daily performance to achieve business goals. Coaches team members towards meeting goals * Observes and trains Team Members activities and work methods, recommends areas of development * Assists the Warehouse Manager in problem resolution relating to production, standard operating procedures, safety and quality
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Requirements** * Minimum 3 years of high volume retail management experience managing a team of 20+ employees. * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or related field), or 5 years Industry experience preferred * Working knowledge of Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) * Must be available to work on weekends, holidays, and nights as required * Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walking/traveling to multiple venues throughout the day * Excellent written and oral English communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization regarding the operation **Desired Characteristics** * Previous retail management experience, specifically within the theme park/entertainment industry preferred * Previous experience with JDA a plus * A strong passion for delivering the highest quality of guest service * Ability to achieve results through the flawless execution of strategies and objectives * Strong organizational, planning, delegation, mentoring and coaching skills * Experience managing in a union environment * Ability to manage effectively under deadlines
