Summary
The ME Technician - Electronics is responsible for performing regular repair and preventative tool maintenance. This includes troubleshooting production tooling problems, and assisting with the fabrication and introduction of new tooling, equipment, and processes into production. This position will have an emphasis on electronic controls and components.
Responsibilities
* Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment. * Collaborate with engineers or other personnel to identify, define or solve developmental problems. * Inspect electrical project work for quality control and assurance. * Specific responsibilities include trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct. * Also, correct errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced. * Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs. * This includes tracking heat systems, PLC programming, or controlling other equipment. * Provide immediate technical support to production related tooling issues, expediting resolution to ensure minimal impact to continuous product flow and production takt time. * Maintain technical project files. * Provide support in the analysis, evaluation and resolution of manufacturing issues. * Address sustaining problems with tool/process improvement recommendations and/or engineering change requirements submitted through the area Manufacturing Engineer. * Ensure that all assigned work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times. * Apply the 6S principle. * Wear proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions. * Comply with all paperwork, such as work instructions that govern job duties. * May be assigned to different work areas as production needs require, and will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* High School Diploma or GED; or two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office required, RSLogix preferred). * Ability to operate Electronic measuring probes and Digital voltmeters, and program Allen Bradley PLC controllers as well as other models. * Familiarity with computer networking, data acquisition systems, and industrial heating systems a plus.
