Summary
The purpose of Paratherm Technology Manager is to provide leadership, critical thinking and the future direction for Paratherm part of CPI Engineering Services which is a subsidiary of The Lubrizol Corporation. The position also has responsibility for creating a technical market leadership position within the industry and with our customer base. Responsible for preparing customer reports and communicating issues as necessary to uphold Paratherm’s industry-wide reputation for customer service. This role impacts the ability of Paratherm to exceed customer expectations and provide superior products and service.
Responsibilities
* Work with customers to troubleshoot and establish efficient operation of equipment * Analyze and report fluid analysis results of customer’s oil * Leverage knowledge across disciplines * Assist in the development of key laboratory personnel * Promote a safe work environment and safe procedures / practices in the laboratory * Promote Responsible Care and Quality program * Enhance Paratherm’s technical position / reputation in the marketplace; e.g. Technical visibility - develop presentations, publish articles in technical periodicals and publications, participate and be involved in leadership roles in relevant technical societies * Improve customer satisfaction related to Paratherm’s products * Develop technical solutions and seek technical input from customers regarding their product needs * Engage in customer interactions so that new products are developed which generate increased sales * Manage quality control for Paratherm products * Operate within financial budget * Ensure timely completion of customer focused projects * Timely development of new technologies * Provide technical direction to Paratherm staff * Assist staff with prioritization of products and projects * Provide Senior Management (Business Director) with supporting information on market direction * Understanding of raw material chemistry and manufacturing processes which require heat transfer fluid * Develop specifications and qualify raw materials/suppliers * Leverage expertise to resolve the customer’s technical support issues and propose potential product improvements * Act as the internal consultant to Paratherm on all environmental and regulatory affairs * Interact with Lubrizol’s Product Safety & Compliance Department on all related matters * Evaluate new and existing products and processes for Compliance, Health and Safety and communicate findings * REACH point contact for Paratherm
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related field * 10 years of work experience * Minimum 5 years of experience related to manufacturing * Direct thermal fluid experience a plus * Prefer experience leading people * Technical background in specialty chemicals or lubricants * Market analysis and ability to organize and present data in a cohesive and meaningful fashion * Travel up to 30%
