Summary
MCD Partners, a leading interactive services agency, is looking for a User Experience Lead, with strong conceptual skills, and a keen eye for details. This is a senior-level position, and extensive experience in leading user interaction design is a must.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to help them build great websites. Understand them better than they understand themselves. - Run point on particular clients. You will create interfaces and manage other IAs to ensure that all work going out to clients is consistently great. - Prepare and execute client presentations; participate in client training when applicable. - Follow a project from strategy through design, to ensure that the user is first and foremost in the final product. - Work with project teams from brainstorm to execution stages, to define high-level interaction experience, site architecture and navigation, as well as design user flow and experience. - Analyze user research data and collaborate with project teams to design a user-centered site blueprint that meets the client’s business goals, timeline, and budget. - Create amazing user interfaces and functional specification documents, user guides, strategy, and analysis documents. - Advocate for user/consumer through the development process. - Create personas through analysis of the functional needs of and information from key customer segments. - Define metrics and parameters for success, as well as conduct usability testing and assessment. - Conduct research through stakeholder interviews, market research, web analytics, observation, surveys, etc. - Stay current on emerging industry trends, and the competitive landscape to provide insight on ways to improve usability and website functionality. - Participate in the recruitment process to help build the UX team. - Help develop and facilitate ongoing skills and team training programs for the whole team. - Mentor junior UX team members, challenge and motivate them.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas, preferred: Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or Computer Science. - At least 7 years relevant experience is a must, prior interactive agency environment is preferred. - Previous experience creating complex, user-centric websites required; experience in or knowledge of website development or coding, preferred. - Expert knowledge of user interface design, information design, usability principles, and web design. - Prior experience leading a team of User Experience/Information Architects. - Strong knowledge of Visio, wire framing, and user-centric design best practices is required. - Passion to help users find what they are looking for in the digital space. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Plays well with others.
