Summary
The primary responsibility of the Field Credit Officer is to assist bankers in the monitoring of their commercial loan portfolio including financial statement review, covenant compliance calculations, and risk rating recommendations. A secondary role of the Field Credit Officer is to work closely with senior Field Credit staff in evaluating client financial information, making recommendations on overall financial performance and risk ratings, and shadowing the credit approval process. The role has been designed to provide ongoing training and development while opening up opportunities to evaluate future career options including both lending and credit roles.
Responsibilities
* Assign financial statements to credit analysts for spreading and calculating covenants. * Review financial statement spreads and covenant calculations for completeness and accuracy. * Make risk rating recommendations to bankers and Field Credit management. * Work with bankers to resolve over limits, past due payments, and other delinquencies. * Work with bankers on collection of past due financial reporting items. * In cooperation with the Senior Field Credit Officer, support the loan renewal process by working with credit analysts on assigning renewal responsibilities. * Shadow the Senior Field Credit Officer during renewal CRM preparation by credit analysts. * Successfully execute other duties that may be assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* The successful candidate for the Field Credit Officer position will have completed a formal credit training program or have two to five years of relevant commercial banking experience with a heavy emphasis on portfolio management. * Demonstrated competency in financial analysis including trend analysis, financial ratio calculations, debt service and collateral coverages, and working understanding of GAAP is required. **Education/Experience** * Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; two to five years related experience in Commercial Banking and Relationship Management or Credit Administration in a lending environment.
