Director of Finance

You have a strong finance background with a passion and fire for numbers, process and automation. You are an entrepreneur at heart and possess a strong desire to build vs. buy, create vs. copy, and seek to expand the division into a cross-functional, scalable debit and credit beast. You want to ensure the division is a strategic strength of the Company, developing automated systems and processes to measure financial performance metrics in all facets of the business.

* Manage reporting relationship with BoD and Investors. * Own the tracking of key business metrics and performance across a wide range of disciplines including demand generation, direct sales channels, account management, customer service, product marketing and recruiting. * Assist with the build out of a world class FP&A function. Manage the end-to-end communication of GAAP and Tax ledger reporting, as well as SaaS financial reporting metrics. * Incorporate business metrics into a transparent budgeting & forecasting process, and improve cross-functional reporting processes and structure to improve the communication and transparency of company performance amongst business units. * Manage the accounting function, including a team performing general ledger closing process, including the accurate and timely closing of ledgers, account reconciliations, and issuance of financial statements and reports to investors. * Manage the year-end audit and tax return process through tight coordination with third-party audit and tax prep teams, providing high quality data and documentation, strong planning and management, and effective communication with external parties. * Manage underwriting and credit risk policies for the business, oversee a collections function. * Promote a discipline of continuous process improvement to seek opportunities for increased effectiveness and efficiency, and provide mentorship within the division. * Assist with accounting functions which may include revenue accounting, lease accounting, fixed asset accounting, and technical accounting research. * Provide thought leadership and executional rigor to all technical accounting questions and monitor changes in critical accounting policies and procedures that may impact the Company. * Responsible for supporting monthly budgeting and forecasting process. Monitor budget to actual variances, reports to management, and proactively makes recommendations and shares ideas on how to make Belly a fun and empowered destination for business managers.

* 5+ years of Big4 audit experience, preferred Manager level experience * Strong understanding or willingness to learn SaaS fundamental business metrics and unit economics * Experience researching, documenting, and applying technical accounting guidance and managing a budget process * Preferred experience in assessment of revenue recognition in multiple deliverable contracts, exposure to employee stock option valuation and accounting, exposure to SEC reporting requirements * Comfort with, or willingness to learn, SQL reporting * Experience with Intacct, Zuora, Expensify and Salesforce is a plus * Strong intellectual curiosity and love of problem solving * Ability to convey complex topics in simple terms and scenario analyses * Willingness to challenge the status quo and force productive conversations amongst teams * Impeccable integrity, work ethic and commitment; positive “can-do” attitude
