Responsibilities
**Key responsibilities will include:** - Identify user and context needs through a user centered approach and translate these into key requirements and use cases for the tool - Together with the Service Design Lead and medical experts, identify and design the user journey and key workflows for different users of the tool - Create innovative interface concepts to ensure user adoption and desirability for the tool - Draw wireframes and sketches to illustrate work flows and functionality of interface components - Together with the Service Design Lead conduct co-design and field testing activities in the country of implementation - Use standard prototyping tools to create interactive design early in the design process - Contribute to developing the service strategy for the tool - Develop and document the interaction design framework for the tool - Work with the visual designer to develop the design language for the tool - Work closely with the development team within an agile environment - Communicate effectively and engagingly with health workers, hospital and project stakeholders about the design process and outcomes of the tool to ensure ownership and shared understanding
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements:** - Commitment to social change and M4ID’s development and health mission - Willingness and the ability to travel internationally. The work engagement will require regular travel to Sub Saharan Africa - Cultural understanding and sensitivity - Sensitivity required for working in a labour ward environment - Independent and proactive working style - Excellent collaboration skills in multinational/disciplinary project teams - Excellent user experience design skills and knowledge of the most relevant digital platforms - Strong service design thinking - Experience with agile implementation processes - Creative concepting skills for digital services. - Excellent oral and written English skills - Experience in designing for health initiatives in low resource settings

Working Conditions

This is a full time consultancy contract based in Helsinki for a period of 12-month. The position will be reporting to the Director of Service Design and Innovation.
