Responsibilities
* Guiding the team on how to apply the Agile practices and values to meet the organizational goals * Guiding the team on how to get the most of self-organization * Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization * Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments * Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving * Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work * Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution * Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information * Supporting the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog. * Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills/Experience** * Experience as a senior program manager role for at least 5-7 years for software development teams that diligently apply SDLC best practices * Previous experience as a project team lead for multiple teams of 5-7 technical developers * Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency * Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc) **Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these are a plus)** * Experience in the Scrum Master role for at least 5 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory * Certification in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar training * Second level Scrum Master Certification (CSP, CPS) * Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development * Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team * Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures * Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team * Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics * Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition * Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices * Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, TDD, etc * Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games * Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team * Previous experience as a team lead * Excellent communication and mentoring skills
