Summary
The candidate for this position has the opportunity to join an outstanding company in Jack Henry & Associates along with the chance to bring a new product to market. The Software Engineering manager will manage both the delivery of a new product and the delivery of our business integration services enabling multiple products and channels. The candidate should be experienced in delivery of software products, full life cycle, managing software engineers and vendors. The candidate will also be responsible for driving discipline in the software delivery process including design. All candidates should be outstanding communicators and leaders. Experience in financial services is key.
Responsibilities
* Exercises independent judgment and discretion in leading the delivery of software products * Responsible for moving a product from requirements to QA while meeting agreed on timelines. * Instilling delivery discipline from documented designs, to automated unit testing to continuous integration. * Manages and works with several developers in designs, development, and prototyping on multiple products in parallel. * Researches product development options and provides analysis for product direction. * Consults with internal partners in product management and customer support to identify customer needs. * Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production. * Collaborate with operations on product deployment and support. * Creates required technical documentation and adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. * Evaluates employee performance, sets expectations and goals for department and individual staff members, recruits, disciplines and trains staff. * Collaboratively works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. * Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects. * Collaboratively works with other SWE team, and Architecture to deliver market needed solutions.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualification:** * 5 years in work-related .NET/ C# software development, delivering channel and SOA products * 3 years of managerial experience in supervising/managing a software development team * 3 years experience operating effectively within both waterfall and agile SDLC mythologies * 3 years of Vendor Management **Preferred Skills:** * Previous supervisory or managerial experience in supervising/managing a software development team * Understanding of waterfall and agile SDLC mythologies * Vendor Management experience * Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal * Visual Studio 2015 * .NET Framework 4.5+ * WCF knowledge/experience * WPF knowledge/experience * Agile (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) * XML * AngularJS * HTML5 * MS SQL
