Summary
Leggett & Platt, Incorporated, an S&P 500 company, is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to be based at its Valley Metals, LLC (www.valleymetals.com) branch in San Diego, CA. This branch is an aerospace manufacturing facility with approximately 50 employees that specializes in the manufacture of precision welded tubing and tubular components for the aerospace industry. We are seeking an experienced and well qualified sales professional who will be responsible for maintaining our existing client base as well as contributing to the growth of the business. The successful candidate will maintain an existing client base, generate new customers, and have a proven track record in sales. Light travel will be required to successfully execute this role (approximately 10%).
Responsibilities
- Deliver superior customer service - Increase revenue through relationships with customers and potential customers - Generate leads by researching and networking - Maintain regular contact with customers as the principle point of contact for open quotations and existing orders - Work cooperatively with inside and outside sales personnel as well as other members of the team - Verify accurate processing of customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements** - At least 5 years of prior experience in a sales capacity - Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a wide range of people - Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) - Exceptional phone skills - Proficient in basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite - Able to perform basic business math (algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.) - Demonstrated ability to meet and increase sales goals **Desired Skills** - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business preferred - Knowledge of various types of metals used in the aerospace industry * An ability to develop strong relationships with customers in order to generate increases in sales and leads is a must.
