Summary
Provide leadership to the maintenance department to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Responsible for training, strategic planning, and daily communication. Provide and proactively manage the second shift maintenance service, safely, on time, and at a reasonable cost.
Responsibilities
**Maximize the efficiency of all our assets.** * Lead by example and maintain a sense of teamwork and ownership. * Develop and maintain a proactive maintenance program. * Monitor KPIs and proactively take steps to achieve them. * Work with other departments to insure completion of schedule maintenance. * Maintain an environment of professionalism and high quality service. **Proactively manage the maintenance department.** * Set expectations and manage to them. * Execute and experience continuous improvement of performance. * Detect and analyze trends in performance to identify root causes and make changes to eliminate problems. * Timely scheduling and communications with other departments to insure efficient use of resources and equipment. **Quality** * Foster an environment of continuous improvement throughout the company. * Insure the facility and equipment is maintained in accordance with King & Prince Seafood Corp.’s accepted standards, and customer requirements. * Facilitate training of hourly employees to improve skill levels and enhance their job effectiveness. * Clearly communicate and reinforce quality accountability. **Personnel** * Maintain a dedicated, capable, productive team of skilled maintenance employees. * Supervise and hold hourly employees accountable for reaching their assigned goals. * Recognize potential, and challenge employees to operate at the highest level. * Encourage hourly employees to enhance their own personal learning curves. **Continuous Improvement** * Empower hourly employees to take corrective actions as needed. * Maximize the reliability of assets through commitment from everyone. * Provide leadership to Company Safety programs. * Clearly communicate to Company Safety and Security policies and expectations to hourly employees. **Equipment Fabrication and Capital Projects.** * Review equipment needs with all support groups to insure a match between equipment and application. * Manage all equipment / equipment parts fabrication needs. **Provide leadership with all projects assigned.**
Ideal Candidate
* Degree from a 2-year or 4-year accredited school is preferred. * Five (5) years minimum experience in Maintenance or Technical field. * Experience with refrigeration, waste water treatment, and machining/welding is a plus. * Employment history in the food processing industry, with a record of increasing levels of responsibility. * Ability to manage in a quality oriented, multi-craft, team environment, to a high level of performance.
