Summary
Our client is looking for a senior, experienced, and hands on Regional Director (“RD”). The candidate will be responsible for the implementation and execution of regional development transactions, and coordination and communication with venture partners. The candidate will report to the Regional Development Officer (“RDO”) to support and assist in the effort to identify, source and close development transactions, and play an active role in the oversight and management of the development process with respect to regional development opportunities. The ultimate objective of the efforts of the candidate, as with all the activities overseen by RDO, is to create profitability for the Company and shareholder. On specific development projects the candidate is expected to manage the day-to-day operations of the development-project office.
Responsibilities
* Takes lead on the day-to-day development processes, including but not limited to land acquisition and entitlements; * Spends a portion of his time on new-business origination, either in active collaboration with the RDO or independently but with the RDO’s full knowledge; * Collaborates with the RDO in the deal-making process from beginning through value creation and realization; * Accountable for oversight, coordination, and management of project design, construction, tenant procurement, public relations, marketing, financing and investor/partner relations and communication for each project/transaction; * Participates in weekly regional meetings and/or conference calls, which include presentation and status of each pending project/transaction; and * Attends appropriate industry functions and conferences as a senior representative of the Company. Note: Position requires extensive/frequent travel to regional and/or project sites, and may include travel to other regions, as required. **Discretion and Independent Judgment:** * Regularly exercises independent judgment and decision-making to resolve day-to-day operational issues. * Provides significant input into the short-term and long-term regional business strategy. * Analyzes and recommends solutions to overcome project hurdles and setbacks.
Ideal Candidate
**Education Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Masters of Real Estate preferred. **Experience / Knowledge / Skills Requirements:** * Twelve to fifteen years of experience in real-estate development, including networking, deal structuring and negotiation. * Excellent project management skills and a proven track record of working effectively with clients, internal resources, third-party suppliers and external consultants. * Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong knowledge of the applicable regional market is essential. * Proven operational, organizational, project management and execution skills. * Ability to create, analyze and understand financial reports and spreadsheets. * Excellent oral and written communication skills and formal presentation skills. * Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Argus and other programs which may be required. **Licenses / Certifications Requirements:** * Driver’s License
