Summary

The IT Manager will ensure compliance, audit readiness and operational stability of application landscape and adhere to Project Management, SDLC and other standard IT methodologies. He/she will ensure compliance with financial targets (expense, capital and headcount) and processes (ie. CAR). The IT Manager will lead a team of 5+ internal J&J people and several consultants overseeing day-to-day activities. This individual will develop the overall team annual goals & objectives as well as individual direct report goals & objectives. The role will provide guidance, direction, development planning, and performance feedback on a regular basis to all team members, in accordance with the Performance Management Process, to ensure effective and productive work teams. This role will coach and mentor future leaders. He/she will identify and champion high potential and high performing talent (conduct succession planning).

Responsibilities

The IT Manager will be responsible for:

  • Articulating I/T strategy and value proposition to business partners and I/T associates, to enable alignment and successful execution of the strategy.

  • Establishing and maintaining JSC/JJQS Global Quality Systems roadmaps in partnership with cross-functional and cross-sector leadership.

  • Partnering with business leaders to define and prioritize a portfolio of solutions that transform and standardize capabilities within JSC.

  • Accountable to planning, control and communication of strategic plans, I/T business plans, budget actuals and I/T allocations for quality system solutions.

  • Accountable for a $4-7MM annual portfolio of quality system projects and programs delivering value for JSC and JJQS, including but not limited to capabilities in quality event management/NC/CAPA, document management, complaint management, learning management and combination products.

  • Proactively bring together appropriate people and resources to support the decision making process; gather and consolidate required information, meeting documents and pre read materials, prepare executive summaries and provide additional back up information. Compile data and trends analysis to incorporate recommendations and state of the business presentations.

  • Working with other IT groups and service organizations to ensure priorities and needs are fulfilled within agreed upon terms.

  • Ensuring execution excellence in the delivery of IT objectives and delivering IT programs on-time, on-budget, in quality that realizes the promised business value.

  • Demonstrating operational efficiency and effectiveness of the team.

  • Meeting IT compliance (WICO, HIPAA, GXP, 21 CFR Part 11, WICO, Records Management, SOX) requirements in all activities and solutions.

  • Ensuring organizational health and engagement.

  • Developing strong diverse talent for J&J.

Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience and BA/BS Degree or equivalent is preferred.

  • Hands on experience in delivering quality systems programs including complaint management, learning management, document management and quality event management is preferred.

  • Track record with people leadership, experience in planning and managing the portfolio finances is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and decisively with senior business leaders, as well as all individual contributor and manager levels in the organization is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop data-driven business cases to support investments is required.

  • Track record of program/project delivery of programs and in managing organizations to deliver project results is preferred.

  • Experience in relevant methodologies such as Systems Development Life Cycle, CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, Portfolio Management and/or Project Excellence is preferred.

  • Understanding of the main Partner functions such as Quality, Regulatory Compliance and/or Supply Chain is preferred.

  • Ability to operate effectively with partner I/T organizations.

  • Strong written and verbal presentation and interpersonal skills required.

  • Experience facilitating groups is desired.
