Summary
Support HAM Manufacturing IT as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding the relationship between Manufacturing equipment and all aspects of Information Technology, i.e., industrial communication, network connectivity, and how equipment programming will interact with related software packages.
Responsibilities
* Desired Knowledge and experience in PLC programming (Sequence Function Chart, Ladder Diagram, and Function Block Diagram) and controls, troubleshooting. * Desired Knowledge and experience with ICS/SCADA/HMI design, familiarity with various programming suites (Mistubishi Melsoft, Omron CX-One, Wonderware, etc.) * Desired Knowledge and experience configuring, troubleshooting Industrial Networks and Communications: ControlNet, DeviceNet, OPC Standard, RS232, TCP/IP, EthernetIP, Profibus, Modbus+ networks. * Desired Knowledge and proficiency in Windows XP/Server operating system experience and OS level troubleshooting of security, system, network, and application interaction functions. * Build technical, Honda Way, and Dept knowledge * Effectively sell ideas, securing buy-in from individuals or team * Effectively lead project themes * Continually develop self-awareness and leadership capability * Develop and maintain relationships with Plant side Equipment Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, HNA IS, HNA Engineering Center, 3rd party providers (Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen Bradley, Yaskawa, ProFace, etc.), recommend best practices from an IT viewpoint to minimize equipment downtime and maximize the success of IT on the plant floor. * Identify risks to production in the form of obsolete technologies, develop and present to Management, upgrade options for unsetting products in use on the plant floor; PLC's, Controllers, HMI's and related programming packages. * Assist HAM Mfg IT in troubleshooting communication issues between Plant Floor Equipment and Production Applications. * Work with HAM Network Engineers to identify potential issues of connecting Plant Floor devices to the HAM network, evaluate new equipment, and provide recommendations on setup and configuration. **Daily Tasks:** * Act as the liaison between Plant Floor Engineers and Manufacturing IT, aid in the identification, and problem resolution of Equipment issues, related to IT. * Evaluate, support design spec and document IT aspects of new plant floor equipment installs. * Provide support to Mfg IT Embedded Manufacturing Services (EMS), Site Engineers and Mfg IT Development -SME/Tier 2/3 support of equipment / IT issues. * Work overtime, adjusted shifts and weekends as required, including on call support during off-hours. * Collaborate with other Site Engineers on Plant Floor communications, future direction and HNA activities
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in Controls environments: PC, Servo, VFD and microprocessors. * Excellent project management, planning, scheduling, coordinating, and status reporting skills using MS Office Tools. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good problem analysis skills. Strong commitment to customer support. * Strong proficiency in technical documentation (system specs, RFQs, technical manuals, etc.) * Ability to lift up to 30 lbs * Ability to climb stairs & ladders. * Must be flexible and accept other service related tasks given and perform well to completion. **Required Experience:** * Demonstrated or experience in Leadership or Team management. * Proven track record of collaboration between IT and Mfg. * Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), Industrial Control Systems (ICS). * Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience **Education Requirements:** * 4-year degree in Information Systems/Electrical Engineering or equivalent exp.
