Accounting Manager

JBS® USA is a leading processor of beef, pork and lamb in the U.S., a leading processor of beef in Canada and the largest cattle feeder in the world with operations in the U.S. and Canada. Responsible for financial functions and personnel at the plant

• Accountable for all financial aspects of the plant
• Compare performance with operating plans and standards. Provide reports and interpret the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the formulation of accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required
• Establish and implement a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan
• Estimate plant expenses and profitability on a regular basis
• Supervise and motivate staff and ensure successful completion of accounting duties and reports
• Monitor performance of direct reports
• Assure the duties, responsibilities, and authority of each job are clearly defined, effective, and communicated to incumbents
• Has final responsibility for providing the organization and its management with the appropriate financial and operating information necessary
• Collaborate with cross functional departments to problem solve and establish action plans to achieve targeted results
• Ensure optimum performance of the function. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies and ensure effective controls

Education: B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience: Minimum 8-10 years accounting experience

• Experienced with manufacturing cost accounting principles and cost accounting systems
• Experience with SAP desired (FICO, MM,PRD, APO)
• Hands on knowledge of AR/AP and inventory systems

Special Skills:

• Computer skills and good interpersonal skills a must
• Through knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures
