Staff Accountant

RXBAR manufactures and distributes fruit and nut energy bars that are rich in protein. Made with eight or less ingredients, including egg whites and nuts, the bars come apple, blueberry, coconut cacao, and coffee cacao. RXBAR was founded in January 2013 and is based in Chicago, Illinois.

We are looking for someone with a solid accounting background interested in growing with our Finance team as we continue to expand our business. Ideal candidate will have an entry-level accounting foundation and experience (which can include internships) to bring to the team, while also being eager to learn about our business and help implement new processes. A self-starter that takes initiative, ownership over processes and is resourceful will excel in this role.

* Process vendor payments including entering payables and cutting checks * Assist in overseeing Accounts Receivable (A/R) process including collections * Prepare monthly bank reconciliations * Own the day-to-day accounting function of the company * Create and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports as requested * Complete analyses on projects relating to inventory and costing * Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures (including financial statement audits) and other special projects as needed * Preparation of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analytics * Daily interaction with a variety of internal departments, including but not limited to Operations, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service * Assist with the implementation of a new company-wide ERP system

* Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge and an excitement for growing our business * Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field * At least one (1) year experience preferred * Recent graduates with strong internship experience will be highly considered * Strong analytical and organizational skills * General understanding of accounting principles related to GAAP * Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities * Evidence of ‘customer first’ values and behaviors * Self-starter who is extremely result and detail-oriented * Desire to excel and grow with the organization * Manufacturing/consumer goods industry experience a plus * QuickBooks experience a plus
