Summary
A Growing Property and Casualty Insurance company is seeking an experienced general manager to oversee the growing operations of an established Managing General Agency in Dallas. The Agency General Manager will be responsible for profitably growing the commercial lines book of business, while coordinating all of the internal processes and tactical procedures. This individual must possess strong business acumen, and the drive and experience to grow an agency from the foundation up.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the agency business plan, to achieve corporate objectives and facilitate growth. * Manage all business operational functions and activities – implement industry best practices. * Contract required agency force and build agent relationships. * Review existing workflows for best practices and process improvement. * Ensure accounting, financial, and operational reporting mechanisms are in place and performing effectively. * Coordinate the various areas within the MGA, (Operations Underwriting, Accounting, IT systems, Quality Control, Claims) to ensure all areas are in sync. * Assess market opportunities, analyze and interpret agent needs, policyholder needs, and competitive trends. * Implement distribution best practices. * Work with information systems (IT), to ensure the system infrastructure can adequately manage the business and provide the analytics necessary to manage performance. * Ensure operational communication tools are in place and effective. * Coach, mentor, and develop staff. * Oversee agency management licensing and filings, product filings.
Ideal Candidate
* A minimum of 10 years' experience underwriting, marketing and management in commercial lines . * A minimum of 2 years' experience managing an MGA operation or carrier. * Strong relationships with Texas agents * Strong operations and leadership skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications * Professional P&C Insurance designations such as CPCU, CIC etc. are considered a plus.
