Summary
As a Commercial Lines Field Marketing Representative, you will represent the company and its commercial lines niche products to current agency customers and new prospective customers. You will have the ability to proactively price, bind and pre-qualify commercial lines business on behalf of the company within field underwriting authority granted.
Responsibilities
* Represent Company and sell Company products. * Develop relationships with agency customers through regular in-person visits to the agent offices. May work with underwriters or other Company personnel to accomplish objectives. * Manage agency relationships to achieve annual growth and profit. * Review, pre-qualify and underwrite potential book roll opportunities on site at the agency. * Price and bind individual risks while in an agency with authority levels granted. Position will be assigned an Underwriting Letter of Authority equivalent to at least an Underwriter 1, or as determined by management. * Modify existing quotes for closure based on competitive factors. * Follow up on larger outstanding accounts and work with TUM / staff to successful closure (binding of the risk). * Periodically conduct field underwriting of a particular risk at the request of an agency or underwriting. * Train agents on company products and systems. * Identify and develop new agency relationships. * Analyze market trends and competitor data within the respective territories to maximize agency growth and assist in budgeting. * Have thorough knowledge of niche program marketing; experience in property & general liability lines of business with ability to portfolio manage catastrophe exposures. * Be familiar with Florida geography & demographics relative to the industry. * Participate in industry related functions. * Attend Marketing meetings in Gainesville, FL, or other designated areas (as required). * Write business informational reports, as well as present similar materials to groups of managers, customers, or other employees (as required).
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Must possess or be willing to obtain a (4-40) CSR or (2-20) Florida Agent License. CPCU or CIC and other industry training preferred. * Valid Florida Drivers License required.
