Summary

This is a junior level position is within the income tax compliance function of a corporate tax department. The main responsibilities are related to the periodic filings of US federal and state income tax returns (1120 Consolidation) for the company’s US subsidiaries. The candidate will also assist, as needed, with audit responses, and quarterly forecasts for tax and US GAAP purposes. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable income tax experience, and grow into greater responsibility with more complex transactions.

Responsibilities

Business

  • Assist in timely filing of income tax returns required by IRS and states (i.e. quarterly estimates, annual state and federal tax returns, and support quarterly & annually tax provision calculations)
  • Assist in preparing and developing related supporting documentation; including state and federal audit support
  • Assist in other tax-related tasks as assigned

Agility and Innovation

  • Suggest and implement process improvement ideas for tax compliance
  • Suggest and / or implement tax saving ideas, or reductions of reliance on outside advisors and associated fees
  • Adapt to changing law, accounting rules, business practices and the continuous evolution of IT systems related to income tax compliance

Relationships and People

Work with outside advisors, other sections of the Ingredion finance organization, IT and related functions to efficiently produce timely and accurate income tax documentation

Ideal Candidate

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:

  • Two (2) plus years experience with U.S. income tax compliance (1120 Consolidation) in either a large manufacturing company or public accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; MST a plus; CPA preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Windows Office Suite ( Excel , Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with OneSource or similar tax software is desirable
  • Ability to independently research issues using RIA and public information
