Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Tax Analyst. The Tax Analyst will be responsible for the preparation of the income tax provision, federal and state income tax return compliance, assistance with tax planning projects as needed, and process improvement related to both financial statement and income tax return reporting processes. Additionally, the Tax Analyst will assist and support strategic planning initiatives, ensure compliance with internal controls, and assist with domestic income tax audits.
- Assisting in the preparation of the tax provision on a quarterly and annual basis
- Reconciling domestic income tax accounts
- Preparing federal and state income tax returns including the calculation of book/tax differences
- Preparing apportionment reports for state income tax filings
- Preparing responses to domestic audits and notices
- Providing assistance to tax leadership with tax planning projects including analysis, documentation, and conclusions
- Supporting federal and state process improvement initiatives within the Tax Department
- Ability to research U.S. federal, state and local tax law
- Assisting with data requests and analysis relating to Armstrong's global business
- Calculating and preparing quarterly estimated payments and extensions
- Assisting with the preparation of cash tax forecasts and current and deferred tax account projections
Required Qualifications for the Tax Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 2+ years of relevant income tax experience in either public accounting or a large corporate tax department
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Experience with corporate tax software and on-line tax research products
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications for the Tax Analyst:
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience with SAP, SAP BPC, and Hyperion
- Experience with ONESOURCE Income Tax and Tax Provision software
