Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Staff/Senior accountant will join the team as the department’s first staff level accountant due to the Company’s growth. Accordingly, this role will require a very hands-on approach by performing a broad range of accounting activities, including having a significant role in our month-end close, ownership of the general ledger, revenue accounting, technical accounting, payroll accounting, policies and procedures and process improvements.
Responsibilities
* Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly close schedule. * Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures. * Analyze revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis. * Prepare monthly account reconciliations. * Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances. * Assist with financial and tax audits. * Assist with preparing tax return support and corporate reporting requirements. * Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls and processes. * Other projects as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance; Public accounting experience a plus. * 5+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required. * Highly detail-oriented and organized in work. * Ability to meet assigned deadlines; Ability to function well in a fast paced environment. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus; * Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives. * Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. * Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
