Summary
The Senior Analyst, Software QA will be overseeing one or more of Magical Digital's work efforts. Oversight includes strategic planning, iteration specific planning, test direction for test teams (onsite & offsite) review and contribute to sprint goals, manage the software defects process, provide reporting to suit the needs of the project and manage the relationship and responsibilities between Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering. This position will report into the Magic Digital QA Manager, but will be responsible for interaction with and communication with other peer-level Analysts, SDET leads, Producers, Project Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters. This position is expected to be a hub for all QA communication to stakeholders and team members for the related work efforts.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing business requirements, user stories, use cases, architectural design documents, game design documents, user interface documents and other source material for ambiguity, consistency, correctness, completeness, feasibility and testability. - Creating test plans to identify the scope, approach, resources required, and details of how testing will be delivered for a project or release. - Maintaining test plans to keep them up to date and relevant. - Managing the external vendor test team in the creation of test cases, execution of tests, bug writing and reporting in accordance with the Wizards of the Coast MTGO Quality Assurance standards and the requirements of the specific project. - Providing the QA presence and leadership in all project meetings to ensure that quality and testability are part of project team thinking throughout the entire process, and conveying outcomes of these meetings to the offsite test team and the Quality Engineering team. - Owning the test environments, including determining when the database is refreshed from Production, when a new build is deployed, and troubleshooting any issues arising. - Working with all project team members (including but not limited to the project manager, development, business analysis, brand, research and design, game support, fraud, system engineers, database administrators, build masters) to ensure that the test team is working efficiently and that any roadblocks are quickly identified and removed. - Leading the defect triage meetings, including ownership of the defect management process and administration of the test case repository and defect tracking tool - Providing Test Reports on all test activity. Defining the reporting needs beyond the standard reports generated. Establishing baselines through requirements, user stories, exploratory testing and collaboration.
