Summary
We are seeking an Accounting Manager who will ensure that the books are closed timely and accurately each month and drive key improvements to internal systems. Oversight of Americas account reconciliations, review monthly international reporting packages, allocations, transfer pricing, consolidations, financial reporting and key management reporting package requirements. The manager provides guidance and coaching to staff to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the function, all within a highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
* Support accurate and timely monthly close to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preparing and reviewing journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations. * Coordinate and lead the monthly/quarterly close process through monitoring close schedule and deliverables of various departments, including international entities, contributing to accurate and timely close * Drive business process improvements and initiatives; brings best practice to accounting function such as updating corporate accounting methodology and desktop procedures * Facilitates creation of management reports including monthly and quarter analysis and metrics * Support External Reporting group on 10Q and 10K reporting process * Work closely with Tax to support quarterly and annual tax provision process * Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 by ensuring creation and maintenance of required documentation and regular controls testing
Ideal Candidate
* At least 5+ years progressive corporate accounting experience required at publicly traded, Multi-national Corporation preferably 2 years in management position * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred * Strong experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP and experience managing the Accounting Close & Consolidation process * Proficient in GL and consolidation modules. Experience with ERP implementations a plus * Excellent leadership capability, ability to lead strong teams * Experience managing global, large scale processes including ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting and system issues * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence outcomes * Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic environment across all levels of management and across functions and geographies.
