Summary
Do you love Accounting and being an integral part of the financial reporting process? Do you enjoy working in a high energy and collaborative environment? As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with the Controller in performing month-end close procedures and producing high quality financial statements and analysis. You will be joining a small team and be given the opportunity to make a large impact and take on significant responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Execute monthly accounting close procedures (journal entries, reconciliations, analysis). * Prepare monthly financial statements and investigate fluctuations for management reporting. * Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) * Assist in monthly internal management and bank reporting. * Work with executives to establish and monitor department budgets. * Assist in processing vendor invoices for payment. * Work with internal and external business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. * Create process documentation and accounting policies. * Strive to continuously improve and automate the accounting and reporting process and instill proper financial controls, wherever possible. * Provide support on special requests and ad-hoc projects as necessary.
Ideal Candidate
* BS in Accounting, CPA preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP. * 2 to 5 years of overall general accounting experience, high tech industry and Big 4 experience a plus. * Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus. * Quickbooks or other ERP system experience. * Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment. * Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance. * Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required. * Ability and willingness to meet critical business deadlines. * Must be a self-starter and enjoy working in collaborative manner
