Summary
As the Mid-West Regional Sales Manager you will take responsibility for chemical sales and gross margin growth by calling on industrial customers in the mid-west states of the USA. This will include calling on many established accounts as well as new business development activities. This position has a direct impact on the success of the Company as the primary point of contact with our customers. Along with generating sales for existing products, you will be asked to discover opportunities for new product development as you interact with customers on key accounts.
Responsibilities
Manage annual sales and gross margin budget for the region. Develop customer base and monitor customer satisfaction through regular visits. Provide customers with product technical support and train customers in the safe and efficient use of company products. Manage and train distributors; establish distribution networks. Provide feedback to product managers on product performance and new product opportunities. Advice the marketing department on quality of leads generated from various methods such as: advertisements, trade shows, and other promotions. Gather competitive pricing data and provide feedback to the business director. Prepare and provide call reports and quarterly presentations for current or new business activities. Assist accounting and customer service with collections as needed.
Ideal Candidate
5+ years’ experience in sales and/or marketing chemicals. Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or a related field. (The technical degree is a must) Knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, and sales techniques. Ability to research, understand, and develop prospective new customers. Communicates professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Strong planning, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. PC literate, proficient, and diligent in the use of commonly used software to support sales/marketing and business activities including MS Office Suite; ability to conduct research via the internet. Ability to make effective persuasive presentations on complex topics to customers and staff at all levels. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Authorized to work for any employee in the USA without restrictions.
